Wake up your inner artist and create unique art and designs for jewelry and colorful tie-dye. Capture the beauty of camp in your photography, drawing and painting projects. And, you’ll also enjoy lots of outdoor adventures!

Brownie Blast
You’ll have a blast with camp friends as you play games, splash in the pool, paddle a canoe and unleash your creativity with arts and crafts. Learn new songs and games and play all day in the mountains.

Camper Sampler
Unplug from your busy life! Hang out with friends and experience the beauty of the outdoors together. Chill out at the pool or canoe on the lake, take aim at archery and hike mountain trails. You’ll choose your own camp adventures and have a summer to remember!

Crack the Case
Everyone is a suspect in an outrageous “whodunit” mystery. Join your fellow camper sleuths and examine clues to crack the case, all while enjoying outdoor adventures, like canoeing, archery and arts and crafts. It’s an open and shut case of pure fun
and excitement that you won’t want to miss!

Games Galore
Ready, Set, GO! The meadow is your game board for a giant outdoor game of Twister. Enjoy traditional camp games, like capture the flag, or bounce around with the human rubber band. Experience fun and challenging outdoor adventures with
new camp friends.

Good Eats
Become a top chef! Have fun in the kitchen whipping up marvelous meals and tasty treats. You’ll add spice to your cooking skills with Dutch or box oven cooking and grilling. Design your own recipe cards to share, or keep them so you can make special treats at home! Choose from a buffet of outdoor activities!

Go Climb a Rock
Reach new heights to scale and rappel down Camp Scherman’s natural rock walls! Learn belaying, knot tying and safety from our skilled experts, and then challenge yourself on a group climb up the San Jacinto Mountains.

Leap!
Take the leap from camper to counselor in this pre-counselor-in-training leadership program. Enhance your communication and teambuilding skills, develop meaningful friendships and gain confidence as you complete the aMAZE journey—it’s a prerequisite for the GS Silver Award.

Master Campers
New to camping or want to brush up on your outdoor skills? Challenge yourself at fire building, knot tying and tent setup, plus enjoy all sorts of outdoor fun like archery and swimming. Practice your new outdoor skills during “Survivor Day.”

Night Owls
Like to stay up late? After the sun goes down, experience the wonders of night at camp, swim under the starry sky and use your night vision. You might even see our jack rabbits or deer that like to come out to play at night.

Once Upon a Time
Have a ball singing, dancing, and acting as you find out about different roles people play both on stage and off! Perform for others and complete your aMUSE journey at Camp Scherman. Whether you want to fly a plane, lead a rock band or win a gold medal, aMUSE will let you take center stage and try out more roles than you ever thought possible! Completing a Junior leadership journey is the prerequisite for the GS Bronze Award.

Outback
Lace up your hiking boots and pack your trail mix as you plan your own overnight adventure! Plan your own overnight adventure. Sleep under the stars and wake up refreshed for a day hike to see breathtaking views and discover the wilderness around camp. Learn how to survive outdoors and practice the principles of “leave no trace.”

Peaks 2 Paddles
From lakes to mountain tops, you’ll fall in love with the land around camp. Lace up your hiking boots and hit the trails for an overnight trek to see panoramic mountain views. On your return to camp, you’ll have fun-filled adventures swamping canoes on the lake, kayaking and sailing.

Pioneer Days
Travel back in time to experience the life of early settlers. Try your hand at baking bread, churning your own butter and cooking meals over the campfire. Learn to dip candles and sew and then sleep under a night sky like a real pioneer girl!

Rodeo Daze
Giddy up, cowgirl! Beginner and Intermediate riders learn to saddle, groom, and care for the horses at Camp Scherman. Through an emphasis on instruction and arena riding, you’ll improve your skills at mounting, dismounting, and riding position. Add to your camp fun with archery, crafts, or canoeing in the lake! Yee haw!

Songs, Skits and S'mores
Love to sing and be in the spotlight? Learn new camp songs and create skits, then kick your creativity into high gear and design your special keepsake skit and songbook! Don’t forget S’mores! You’ll make tasty and gooey treats to enjoy as you sing your heart out!

Starry Nights
Gaze up at the night sky and make a special wish on a shooting star. Fill your evening with stargazing and folklore as you experience Prim, Camp Scherman’s natural camp site. Your days will be filled with outdoor adventures like hiking, boating
and archery.

Swimming and Swamping
Grab your sunscreen and swimsuit for water fun! Take a Polar “Brrr” swim in the morning and glide across the pool under a starry sky. Swamp canoes and learn to get back in as you paddle to your next aquatic adventure! Once you’re on dry land, enjoy a nighttime luau on the beach.

Trail Blazers
Hit the trails for a scenic ride with other intermediate riders and polish your tacking, grooming and other basic horse skills. Use your creativity making crafts, test your archery skills to hit the bull’s eye and swamp canoes on the lake.

Under Construction
Enjoy the adventures of camp as you learn tricks of the construction trade and be your own handywoman! Design and build your own toolbox so your gear will always be at your fingertips!

Water, Rockets and Rainbows
Mix, pour, bubble, and launch! Explore the wonders of science to create rainbows, launch a rocket into the sky and make edible “crystals.” Use scientific skills to test your buoyancy while swimming and check your heart rate on a hike up mountain trails.

CIT1
Discover your talents and learn to share them with other girls! Find out what it takes to be a counselor at Camp Scherman. Learn teaching techniques, leadership and team building skills while making lasting friendships. There is an application process for this program.
Entering Grades 10-12: Session 1 & B1

CIT2
Build on your CIT 1 experience to further develop leadership skills, program planning, problem solving techniques and experience the rewards of being a Camp Scherman counselor. There is an application and interview process for this program.
